During the 2019/2020 year, the IDC sponsored Kids Included Together (KIT) to work with island organizations to better include those with a disability in their inclusive recreation and leisure programming. KIT is the national leader in disability inclusion and behavior support and helps organizations meaningfully include kids with disabilities through inclusion training, policy development and sharing best practices, information and research. KIT met monthly via facilitated video conferences, one on one coaching, and the recent MV Inclusion Institute. The current members of the KIT cohort include the YMCA, the Boys & Girls Club, Misty Meadows, The MV Library Association comprising all of the Island Libraries, Felix Neck, The Trustees, The Farm Institute, and Island Grown.
